Judas Maccabaeus (HWV 63), is an Oratorio composed by G.F. Haendel in 1746, with a libretto by Thomas Morell, the oratorio epitomizes the victory of Prince William Augustus, the Duke of Cumberland, at the battle of Culloden, the final confrontation of the jacobite rising.
